Abstract: In the migration petroleum in the reservoir there alwaysremains some saline water in the interstices of reservoir rocks whichare invaded by petroleum. That is reservoir always contains certainpercentage of saline water. Stich a medium can be concidered as dielectric particles enveloped by a conductive fluid in geophysics.Theoretically it is shown that resistivity in such medium will bea function of frequency. Thus it was determined that induced polarezation method could be used in petroleum exploration particularly in the location of petroleum horizons in petroleum wellsthrough IP loggs. Thus Another method of interpretation for thedetection of petroleum horizons in petroleum wells ise suggested.
