Abstract: The finding of Graptolites in a fossiliferous bed along the GülüçRiver, in the vicinity of Ereğli, demonstrates for the first time the exis- tence ofUpper Silurian strata in this district. Until now these beds have been includedin the Lower Carboniferous.
